Mountain Arts Community Center

The Mountain Arts Community Center, known as the MACC, fills a stone building on Kentucky Avenue that its website says was built as a school in 1926. According to its site, the center is owned and operated by the Town of Signal Mountain, and it runs classes, events and performances for all ages. Music students take lessons on a range of instruments, and the dance program covers ballet, contemporary and Irish step dance. The pottery studio has 10 wheels, with classes for kids and adults plus memberships for studio time, and the schedule also includes fitness classes on flexibility, balance and strength and technology workshops. Plays, concerts and readings take place in the 200-seat Ridge Theater, and the theater, event hall, classrooms, board room, dance studio and gallery space can all be rented.
