Open Gate Days at Lula Lake Land Trust

Lula Lake Land Trust opens its Core Preserve for public hiking on Open Gate Days, Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. The preserve has more than 8 miles of trails, bluff views and a waterfall. The gate opens at 9 a.m., no one is admitted after 1 p.m., and the preserve closes promptly at 5 p.m.
The trust says reservations are required and space is limited, with arrival-time slots. The fee is $16 per reservation, which covers one parking space (no buses or large vehicles), and the trust says all proceeds go toward preserving the land. The trust says reservations are rain or shine and can be canceled up to 48 hours ahead. An optional guided Classic Loop hike (4.5 miles, described as moderately difficult) meets at 11 a.m. and costs $40 per person.
Reserve a spot on the official Saturday page or the Sunday page.
