Hayrides, corn mazes, U-pick pumpkins and farm animals, from Flat Top Mountain to the Ocoee and north Georgia. Here are the farms worth the drive this fall, with 2026 dates, hours and prices for each.
Pumpkin season around Chattanooga means a drive out of town, and that's half the fun. Head up onto Flat Top Mountain, out through the farm country around Cleveland and Benton, or down I-75 into north Georgia, and you're soon on a hayride with a corn maze waiting at the other end. A farm day is one of the easiest family outings of the fall here, and the six farms below are the ones we'd send a friend to.
Every farm on this list has posted its own schedule for this season. Four of them sit within about an hour of downtown Chattanooga, and the two biggest are a little past that, so we've listed real drive times for each. What each farm offers carries over from year to year. The lines marked 2026 are this season's dates, hours and prices, taken from each farm's own website, ticket page or Facebook page. Working farms close for rain and change hours on short notice, so check the farm's page the morning you go.
Flat Top Mountain Farm - Hayrides With a Mountain View
Flat Top Mountain Farm is the Hughes family farm, worked by the same family since 1824, up on Flat Top Mountain north of Soddy-Daisy. Plenty of people know it from the lavender festival in June. In the fall it's the closest farm on this list, and the setting does a lot of the work: open fields, Highland cows, mini donkeys and long views off the mountain.
The fall festival keeps things simple. Admission covers scenic hayrides, a family-friendly corn maze, the animals, photo spots and the farm store, and every paid guest goes home with one homegrown pumpkin from the farm. U-pick flowers are an add-on while the fields are blooming. Seasonal food vendors set up on site, parking is free, and the farm is stroller friendly, though you'll be on gravel, grass and hills, so wear real shoes.

- Address: 638 Bowman Cemetery Road, Soddy Daisy, TN 37379
- 2026 season: September 18 through November 1 (event details)

Two dates are worth planning around in 2026. Vintage Days on October 3 and 4 brings heritage demonstrations, antique equipment, traditional crafts and local makers. On Harvest Costume Day, Saturday, October 31, kids 14 and under in costume get in free and anyone 15 and older in costume gets half off.
Creekside Acres - Small, Cheap and Easy With Little Kids
Creekside Acres is a small family farm tucked between two creeks just outside Cleveland. It does flowers in the spring, pumpkins in the fall and a Christmas tree lot in the winter, and its fall weekends are built for little kids and family photos rather than a full day of rides.
Come for the pumpkins and mums, then let the kids loose in the corn maze and with the farm animals. There are fall photo setups around the property, and the farm says professional photographers are welcome during regular open hours, which makes it an easy spot for a quick family photo session. It's also the cheapest admission on this list, and part of it comes back to you as credit. If you'd rather skip the styling at home, Creekside also sells fall porch kits in three delivery packages through its website.
- Drive time: about 45 minutes northeast of downtown, 10 minutes from downtown Cleveland

Guthrie Pumpkin Farm - One Price, Everything Included
Guthrie Pumpkin Farm near Riceville has been at this for more than 25 years. Rush and Sandra Guthrie bought the farm in 1989 and spent years restoring worn-out land, and today it's the farm for families who don't want to hear "can I do that one?" every five minutes, because more than 40 attractions come with one admission price.
That covers the animal petting barn with goats, pigs and chickens, the corn maze, a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch, the bounce pad, the bee train, and the "ed shed," where kids learn the life cycle of a pumpkin. Pumpkins are sold by the pound, and there's bluegrass to listen to while you eat. The concession stand does hot dogs, chili cheese fries, nachos, funnel cakes and deep fried Oreos, and unlike some farms, Guthrie is happy for you to bring your own picnic.
- Drive time: about an hour northeast of downtown
- Address: 490 County Road 67, Riceville, TN 37370
- 2026 season: opened Saturday, September 26. The farm hasn't posted a closing date, so check its Facebook page before a late-season trip.

Ocoee Valley Farms - The River Maze
Ocoee Valley Farms in Benton is a working row crop farm the rest of the year, growing soybeans, corn and wheat by the Ocoee River. Each fall the Fetzer family opens it as a fall festival called the River Maze, and the corn maze is the star.
The main maze is carved into 8 acres of extra-tall corn with a new design every year, a scavenger-hunt mystery to solve on the way through, and trivia passport posts that give clues about which way to turn. Smaller kids get their own options in the No Left Turn Maze, a Color Maze and a Spookley the Square Pumpkin maze. Beyond the mazes you'll find more than 25 attractions, a U-pick pumpkin patch with 30-plus varieties, U-pick sunflowers, cosmos and zinnias, and campfire sites for s'mores. A few extras, like the cow train, corn cannon, paintball gallery, water wars and face painting, run on tokens.
The food beats typical farm concessions. The Cornfused Café does burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, chili, corn on the cob and cobblers, and DiDi's handles ice cream, slushies and fresh mini donuts.
- Drive time: about an hour east of downtown
- Address: 1371 Highway 64, Benton, TN 37307
- 2026 season: September 26 through November 1. Saturdays and Sundays in September, Fridays through Sundays in October. (event details)

- Before you go: every ticket holder needs a signed safety waiver. Download it from the farm's website, sign it and bring it to the gate.

Mayfield Farm Park - The Biggest All-Day Outing
Mayfield Farm Park sits on 40 acres in Athens, just down the road from the Mayfield Dairy, and it's run by the same Mayfield family that started the dairy back in 1910. Michael Mayfield opened the corn maze in 2008, and it has grown into the most theme-park-like farm on this list. If your kids are old enough to run from one thing to the next all day, this is the one that will wear them out.
There are three corn mazes, a pumpkin patch with 50 varieties grown on the farm and priced by weight, U-pick sunflowers and zinnias, and more than 40 activities: zip lines, mountain slides, a jumping pillow, hay rides, a cow train, pig races, pumpkin and apple cannons, a trike raceway, a kiddie fun zone for the smallest kids, and live music on weekends. The Silo Light Show is the big finish. Food is festival fare plus hand-dipped Mayfield ice cream and milkshakes, and outside food isn't allowed.

Copper Creek Farm - Haunted Corn Maze Nights in North Georgia
Copper Creek Farm, run by the Grogan family in Calhoun, Georgia, is the longest drive on this list, and the reason to make it is what happens after dark. On Friday and Saturday nights the corn maze turns into a haunted maze, there's a flashlight maze and a bonfire with marshmallows, and Saturdays end with fireworks at dusk. It's the pick for teenagers who think hayrides are for babies.
The daytime farm holds its own: a pumpkin patch, a giant corn maze and a kiddie maze, wagon hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, pig races, gem mining, a cow train, a giant jumping pillow, a kids' zip line, a barn loft slide and the monster pumpkin cannon, all included with admission. The general store sells glazed pecans, peanut brittle and local honey for the ride home.
- Drive time: about 1 hour 10 minutes south of downtown on I-75
- Address: 1514 Reeves Station Road, Calhoun, GA

Tips for a Better Farm Day
- Check the farm's Facebook page the morning you go. These are working farms. Guthrie, Ocoee Valley and Mayfield all point visitors to Facebook for weather closures, and Mayfield says plainly it isn't a rain-or-shine attraction.
- Buy online when it saves money. Mayfield's online tickets run $3 less than the gate, and Flat Top sells dated tickets online.
- Go on a Friday or during fall break if you can. October weekend afternoons are peak pumpkin patch time, and Mayfield even prices its Thursday, Friday and fall break tickets lower.
- Dress for dirt. Expect dust when it's dry and mud after rain. Closed-toe shoes and an extra layer for the evening go a long way.
- Know the pumpkin math. At most farms the pumpkin costs extra. Flat Top gives every paid guest one, Creekside gives you a $3 credit, and Guthrie and Mayfield sell by the pound.
- Leave the dog at home. Flat Top, Guthrie and Mayfield don't allow pets, though service animals are welcome.
- Do the paperwork before Ocoee Valley. Print and sign the safety waiver at home so you aren't filling it out at the gate.
- Food rules vary. Guthrie welcomes picnics. Mayfield doesn't allow outside food.
- Want pumpkins without the drive? Rock City's Enchanted Pumpkin Patch on Lookout Mountain fills the gardens with lit jack-o'-lanterns through October 31. It isn't a farm, but it makes a great fall evening without leaving town.
