Running of the Chihuahuas

This is exactly what it sounds like - and it's way more entertaining than you'd expect. Dozens of chihuahuas (and chihuahua mixes) line up for bracket-style racing, and the crowd goes absolutely wild. Some dogs sprint. Some wander. Some just sit down and stare at the finish line like it personally offended them.

Beyond the races, there's a costume contest that gets surprisingly competitive, plus food vendors and pet-related booths. It's family-friendly, dog-friendly, and the kind of weird local event that makes Chattanooga great.

Registration opens for racers in advance. Spectator admission is typically free or a small donation.
