Rails, Wizards & Spells at Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum 2026
Rails, Wizards & Spells is the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's fall weekend event, running September 18 through October 25, 2026. You start in the Enchanted Forest and Wizards Way Village, where you can browse magical shops, play outdoor games, make a potion and take a hay ride to Chickamauga Creek.
Then you board for a round-trip train ride, and at Chamberlain Crossing there is a locomotive turntable demonstration. Plan about 2.5 hours in all, with the train itself taking roughly 50 minutes, and arrive at least 30 minutes early to check in at Grand Junction Depot. Costumes and personal wands are encouraged but not required. Children under 12 must stay with a parent or guardian, and the museum says the event runs rain or shine with parts of it outdoors.
Hours are Fridays 4 to 10 p.m., Saturdays 2:30 to 10 p.m. and Sundays 2:30 to 7 p.m., and tickets are $35 per person for ages 2 and up. Get tickets and dates on the museum's event page.
