Head of the Hooch 2026

The Head of the Hooch is a two-day rowing regatta on the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga, held Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8, 2026, with rowers from around the country. It is a head race: boats start about 15 seconds apart and row a 4,500-meter course that ends at Ross's Landing Park, with results based on time. The regatta is run by volunteers, and the first races go off at about 7:50 a.m. each day.
Watching is free. Ross's Landing Park has grandstands at the finish line, and the regatta also suggests the Walnut Street Bridge, Coolidge Park on the North Shore and the Riverwalk as places to watch. Downtown parking is limited during the event, and the regatta's spectator page points visitors to a free electric shuttle along Broad and Market streets.
The race schedule and spectator tips are on the official Head of the Hooch site.
