The Speech & Hearing Center

The Speech & Hearing Center is a nonprofit clinic on Encompass Drive offering audiology alongside speech-language, occupational and physical therapy. Its website dates the organization to 1953 and says it serves patients of all ages. Hearing services named on the site include hearing tests, hearing aid fittings, repair and maintenance, hearing protection, newborn screenings, pediatric VRA, tinnitus treatment and industrial OSHA testing. It carries hearing aids from brands such as Phonak, ReSound, Starkey and Unitron, plus over-the-counter models and CapTel phones. The therapy side also includes hippotherapy. According to its website, the center uses a sliding fee scale for patients who are uninsured or underinsured, and its Hear Chattanooga program helps qualifying adults buy hearing aids.
